Is how he has the unfazed gall
To lie about what’s evident,
To wit, inauguration crowds
Whose size he said a pic beclouds.

My current fear is not what he
Will do or won’t. Knows not himself.
An addlebrained mentality
Betrays a self-deluded elf
Whose looking glass reflects pastiche,
Those indie picks without a lease.

Talking Like a Duck

A wounded duck he’s well become,
But lame, as though forever hurt?
Like Aflac’s, ever optimum,
At times when doomsday critics blurt,
He’s got to brawl to guarantee
Obamacare’s his legacy.

He'll Get His

Regardless if you thought the price
He ought to pay was life in jail,
Or death. No matter, both suffice.
And in the end alike prevail.
In cases monstrous such as this,
His cell or yard's his last abyss.

Uncle Peeper

I wish I worried more about
The feds‘ observing whom I’ve called
And who’s called me in case they doubt
My loyalty and thus forestalled
Dark hopes of zapping Washington
To aid Iran or just for fun.

Back home who say don’t hence take lives.
Abuse without due process thrives.

If women want a combat role,
They ought to have the very chance
That men do, letting both control
How fast and far careers advance.

I love it. Having failed to win
With shorter early-polling hours
Or picture ID cards akin
To paring Blue States’ voting powers,
In some their GOP now floats
A  ploy for counting national votes.

The Ties that Free

He could have shown more eloquence
By clinging to the ritual
Of splendid thoughts but at expense

For sure police know more than I
About who lies or tells the truth,
Though how could anybody spy

At first he might look only miffed;
He’d never bounced a check before.
But when the Chinese give short shrift

In lecturing the nation’s press
On how the country must  beware

Proposed a good guy with a gun.

Just maybe as a nation we
This time can see the slain as prey
And not, as kooks would have them be,
Fit martyrs for the N.R.A.

More so than ever, Palestine
Deserves acceptance as a state.
Its moderates are in decline,
And Gaza’s shambles elevate
The Strip’s Hamas regime from hell.
Whose goal’s the death of Israel.

I’ve never had much confidence
In second-guessing Israel,
For sure in matters of defense
When neighbors’ hate turns visceral.
