And what most Pakistanis won’t,
By standing tall and getting shot
Because she snubbed some ancient don’t
Misstated as Islamic rule
That females shouldn’t go to school.
Protesters fill the nation’s streets
Admonishing the Taliban
For how it brutally mistreats—
At home and in Afghanistan
To make sharia law apply—
Those like Malala Yousafzai.
Attacked while riding on her bus
From school, this teen-aged heroine
Has gained the hearts of most of us.
But home is where she all must win
If she survives with all her wits
While in the care of fervent Brits.
