Talking Like a Duck

A wounded duck he’s well become,
But lame, as though forever hurt?
Like Aflac’s, ever optimum,
At times when doomsday critics blurt,
He’s got to brawl to guarantee
Obamacare’s his legacy.

Which means he has to realize
His greatest risks are in his ranks.
The bureaucrats who launched his prize
With webpage that, untested, tanks,
Should top to bottom get the broom.
The techies then have running room.

Leave immigration change aside
Whoever fills the White House next
Can hope to see reforms applied
And keep on banning what has vexed
The country most in recent years:
Our boots in others’ blood and tears.

Barack should see himself in line
With FDR, whose SSA
Supported oldsters in decline
Like Medicare from LBJ.
To be among his clientele,
Obama, though, needs young and well.
