I love it. Having failed to win
With shorter early-polling hours
Or picture ID cards akin
To paring Blue States’ voting powers,
In some their GOP now floats
A  ploy for counting national votes.

He could have shown more eloquence
By clinging to the ritual
Of splendid thoughts but at expense
Of grist in an Inaugural.
He found instead more plans to pump
As though back on the campaign stump.

For sure police know more than I
About who lies or tells the truth,
Though how could anybody spy
(Unless mixed up—or super sleuth)
The years of drug use he denied
Until too clearly, he had lied?

Unc's Funk

At first he might look only miffed;
He’d never bounced a check before.
But when the Chinese give short shrift
To pleas to wait a little more
For payments on their hefty loans
The sounds he‘ll make are heartfelt moans.
