A Knick in Armor

He’s not a new phenomenon.
Old-fashioned, I would sooner say.
It’s teamwork he depends upon,
First thing, he looks to make a play,
Though drives and scores if left alone
Or swishes from the three-point zone.

Nor is he even first to bring
The league some Asian ancestry.
Recall the Houston Rockets’ Ming
Who’d tower over Jeramy.
Who’s six foot three, as though he’d shrunk
Into some punk who can’t slam-dunk.

Nor is he first from Harvard’s squad,
To make it to the NBA.
Besides it’s not that fans applaud
Potential for an MBA.
In short Lin’s turned their Knicks around
Not as a hot dog—playing sound.
