Some of his Best Friends use Toilets

Louisianans ought to hate
Their throwback of a magistrate
Who won’t wed couples white and black,
A rebuff that has drawn attack
From people all around globe
Who think he’s some HighYellar-phobe.

Indeed, he’s said the mixed-race brood
Will rile both races, leave kids screwed.
Such unions, too, he says run risk
As though same-race splits yet aren’t brisk;
As though our White House residents
Don’t honor prior presidents.

Keith Bardwell, justice of the peace,
Prefers the calumny would cease.
He counts as black friends piles and piles,
And lets them grace his bathroom tiles.
He’s like those crackers way back when,
As if we need Jim Crow again.

Three decades Bardwell had his way.
What took so long the exposé ?
