Adios, Cuban Clunkers

After more than half a century,
Cuban Communism’s cracking.
Just like in a penitentiary,
Labor worth its name was lacking.
Fidel and his brother Raul—
Facing up to state-paid shirkers,
Jobs whose of, proles ran afoul—
Pink-slipped half a million workers.

Why then can’t we have relations?
Chavez does and makes us boil.
But, like other OPEC nations,
Venezuela sells us oil.
China, too, locks up detractors,
Sells their body parts. The heart breaks.
What, us worry, though? Main factors:
U.S. bonds it buys like hotcakes.

Hurdles linger in Miami.
Relatives who fled in rowboats
Threaten now a double whammy:
Gobs of bourgeois GOP votes.
Florida, Obama carried.
How he’d like to do it once more.
Michigan, more closely married,
Positively can he hope for.

All those clunkers in Havana,
Let Detroit replace. Hosanna!
