Pissing All Over Themselves

It’s hard for me to criticize
Our youthful proxies in a hell
That I can only theorize:
A nightmare to a fare-thee-well,
A breakdown of humanity
That risks a loss of sanity.

So when I watched them urinate
On bodies of the Taliban,
I wondered if they’d given weight
To how such mockery can fan
More hatred for our next patrol,
Who might then pay a greater toll.

These Leathernecks are in a mess,
Careers quite likely at an end.
I hope their commandant’s redress
Is something they should comprehend:
Civilian life, just one black eye,
And motto ever Semper fi.
