From Rocks to Nukes

“What, us worry?” Pakistanis
Counter fears of well-kicked fannies
Since the Taliban took over
Territories with a fervor.
Self-delusion all the while
By a country in denial.

Near Islamabad, new bastions
Raise some fundamental questions.
Fundamentalist, I should say,
When religious zealots hold sway,
Forcing ancient faith on Muslims
Many think make women victims.

How would Pakistanis view us,
Wouldn’t they be just as nervous
Hearing Christian rightist preachers
Urge a government that features
Scorning women’s rights as too daft,
Feminism linked to witchcraft?

So, one time, thought Reverend Robertson.
Furthermore, once in our nation,
Salem women crazed and moaning,
Suffered deaths as bad as stoning,
Sentenced witches on the gallows.
Taliban like rocks for deathblows.

Their country’s nukes might lure them, too.
Pray grasping them, they’ve not a clue.
