They the People

North Africans are in the street
To overthrow despotic rule.
To do so, some of them entreat
Support like first we heard in school:
They want the backing of our Pres,
As we got from King Louis Seize.

Without him we’d have likely been
Like Canada, which worked out fine.
But revolutionaries then
Like now weren’t wont to wait in line.
We won with Louie’s fleet offshore
And George The Third our king no more.

Barack Obama’s slow to take
A stand on Egypt’s wild unrest.
He doesn’t want to fast forsake
An ally, as he’s valued best:
Mubarak, dictatorial,
But recognizes Israel.

Oh Louie, what would you advise?
Embrace him if he's right or wrong,
Implying whether protest’s wise:
Why can’t you all just get along?I bet you’d have Egyptians stress
Life, liberty and happiness.
