Fight, Fellows, Fight, Fight, Fight

On Wisconsin! Our own Egypt!
Plunge through those who battle labor.
Teachers stand a chance to get gypped
If beneath a State House saber
Union reps can’t bargain for them,
Triggering collective mayhem.

All alone each one would wrangle
Over what a school board offers.
Also there’s a newer angle
Than what’s left in public coffers:
Notes from doctors at their protest,
Illness kept them home for bed rest.

What should one, then, tell wee Philip,
Ending weeks of truancy,
Waving documents that let slip
Not a jot of fluency?
See the Principal? That won’t work.
Her own set-to made him berserk.

Doctors writing fake excuses,
Are they wreckless with prescriptions?
Legislators, too, have ruses,
Giving state police conniptions.
Democrats have crossed the border;
Legally, they’re out of order.

One might hope for, in their chambers,
More professional decorum.
GOP state senate members
Only want to have a quorum
Passing anti-union statutes
Making public callings crapshoots.
