Nimby at its Worst

Iran’s regime has praised the young
In Egypt and Tunisia.
For home-grown rebs, it bites its tongue
As if it courts amnesia
Of its own toppling of the Shah.
It rules such strife's against the law.

Beware, Tehran. What goes around,
Can come around and bite your butt.
May your duplicities redound
To growing discontent of what
You praise but hold in no regard:
Free will but not in your back yard.

You hijacked U.S. hostages,
And as though that weren’t cause to hate,
You hijacked Islam’s messages
Of co-existing church and state.
You pose the Mideast’s biggest threat.
I hope your kids can rise up yet.
