A Taste of Tastelessness

Michele Bachman, White House would-be,
Likens Auschwitz to our tax codes.
What, she asked her mother, did she
Do to stop the one-way trainloads?

What will we, the congresswoman
Wonders will we tell our youngsters
If we keep on with a tax plan
Passed as if by nonstop shysters?

Tasteless semblance without question
Though with matches unintended
House Republicans this session.
Might suggest if unamended.

Medicare decline would menace
Seniors and disabled juniors.
Medicaid cuts just as grievous,
Rob the poor of even plain cures.

Chill, you kids, don’t be old-fashioned,
Uncle Sam was low on money.
Gramps was, as we called it, rationed.
Yes, I know it wasn’t funny.

Dad, they thought it bureaucratic.
Rightists viewed it with alarm.
No one saw in all that static
Numbers tattooed on his arm?
