Beware of Geezers

Four years ago Obama won
In large part thanks to youngsters’ votes.
This year he’ll win when seniors shun
The GOP, whose slate promotes
Dismantling of Medicare,
A view not going anywhere.

Vice-presidential candidate
Paul Ryan treats as crucial creed
A plan to very much inflate
The price tag for an elder’s need
By privatizing benefits,
Defrayed by fixed amounts of chits.

In Florida, the chief swing state
And heretofore perhaps in doubt,
Mitt Romney’s choice of running mate
Will turn impending oldsters out
In droves to register dissent
And reelect the president

Ohio, Pennsylvania, too,
Virginia, also Michigan,
Potential Red States voting Blue
Sad days to be Republican.
Like Sarah Palin, why so choose
As though the party wants to lose?
