Sex and the Cosmo Girl

To say the king’s not wearing clothes
Means someone’s dodged the obvious,
To say the queen dispatches those
At moments that we won’t discuss
Is Helen Gurley Brown’s bequest
That traded prudery for zest.

Should single women withhold sex
While bachelor studs grab all they can?
The two-to-tango view rejects
One-sided license for a man
But didn’t click till Gurley Brown
In juicy detail broke it down.

As writer and an editor
At Cosmo and of several books
She cheered a sort of predator
Who’d lure a guy with more than looks,
As might an anthropologist
Who wants to see the race persist.
