Let Morals Take a Back Seat

The Saudi mufti’s fatwa rules
That Saudi women cannot drive.
Such two-sex mobile closeness fuels
Lewd thoughts, he thinks, that might deprive
The lords and masters back at home
If unescorted wives so roam.

Such reasoning, if I were they,
I’d want to somewhat turn around.
To escorts that the households pay
To drive when in no rush homebound
She might say stop, she has a treat.
No closeness beats my shuttered seat!

In not much time she seems a grouch
Who always says she has a cold
And spends her bedtime on the couch.
While gnashing of his teeth grows old.
At last he says he’ll make a deal:
We’ll dine out if you'll take the wheel!
