Call an Ambulance

I now watch Mitt with squinted eyes
Through fingers pressed obstructing sight
As though he needs to improvise
Because he’s lost and can’t recite
Lines called for in a third-grade play,
To friends’ and family’s taut dismay.

His 60 Minutes interview
On Sunday night was such a case..
The fifty million of those who
Do not have medical but face
A crisis, Mitt said they’ve got care
In  ERs—cost spread everywhere.

The hospitals jack up the bills
To cover those who cannot pay
For treatment unsustained of ills
That likely won’t work anyway.
It’s Romneycare that he belies
Each time one of these patients dies.
